Career development for international students and post-doc researchers
At the NAIST Career Services Office, we provide comprehensive career support, mainly for international students and post-doctoral researchers who wish to work in non-academic fields in Japan.
Career Support Framework
We offer year-round 1-to-1 consultations in English for international students. The three career advisors in charge have wide overseas experience. Besides that, various career support programs are planned, including intra-university collaborations with career support staff from other departments. In addition, initiatives for company matching and diversification of career paths are being carried out through close collaborations with private companies, career support organizations, career centers of other universities and more.
Support Programs
We provide career guidance for students who wish to work in private companies upon completing their Master’s and Doctor’s. Such guidance covers a wide variety of topics, such as an overview of job hunting in Japan, writing a resume/entry sheet, creating presentation slides and job interview strategies. Besides that, consultations for students with job offers from Japanese companies, as well as networking sessions on career development with alumni are held throughout the year.
NAIST Alumni Database
We maintain a database of alumni who have joined Japanese companies. If you would like to get in touch with an alumnus working at any specific company, please consult our office staff.
Book Lending
Books that are helpful for job search and career planning are available for loan at the Career Services Office.
