For Muslim students

NAIST provides rest and meditation rooms that can be used as a prayer room in Biological Science (BS) and Materials Science (MS) buildings. Please ask other Muslim students/faculty or CISS for the exact locations.
Jum'ah (Friday) Prayer is usually held on Campus (Mostly held at the Sentan Guesthouse Assembly Room) 12:45-13:30. Please ask other Muslim students to put you in the chatgroup for details.
Japan has prayer rooms and Masjid especially in larger cities like Osaka and Kobe. Usually, tourist information centers, big shopping malls and halal restaurants provide prayer rooms, especially those nearby tourist destinations. There is no Halal food service in the campus cafeteria, however they have a Muslim-friendly menu including udon, soba, rice with egg, fish, etc. Please eat with your own discretion since the cutlery is washed together. There are also self-organized halal bento services on campus made, so please ask Muslim students/faculty to put you in the chatgroup.
There are 2 types of restaurants where you can eat in Japan, Halal certified restaurants and "Muslim-friendly" restaurant. The Halal certification is approved by Halal Certification Body Japan, while "Muslim-friendly" restaurant means the restaurant doesn't use haram ingredients (pork, alcohol) in the meals or uses halal ingredients but does provide alcoholic drinks. Please eat with your own discretion.

In the Ikoma city area, some Muslim students and scholars go to the Gyomu Super (a chain of bulk food supermarkets that does offer some Halal) and Costco, the American wholesale store that also offers Halal foods, etc., which is roughly a 30-minute drive from NAIST.
